My stylist uses pravana violet on my hair. I naturally have dark brown, so she bleached some high lights in, then applied the pravana. It made my all of my hair purple, even the dark brown, and the pieces she highlighted were super bright. I love it BUT it fades super fast and the color bleeds so bad when I wash my hair I have to keep it off my neck or my neck will be purple. Also it stained the neck of some of my shirts. I have a picture of my hair in my profile, check it out. It's almost the exact color as in the first picture :)

Oops said app twice lol and Lydia I think you'll look great with purple hair but its super high maintenance just like any color I tried it and mine faded quickly but I didn't like it enough to bother with the upkeep but I really think it depends on the dye you buy the kind I bought was really cheap so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

@vanessa I used splat when I dyed my hair pink a couple years ago and it worked great It took forever to get that stuff out of my hair when I wanted to go back to my natural color.

I have like plum purple. it took really good to my hair and stayed pretty well overall. I am deff thinking about keeping my hair this color maybe even a shade lighter so the purple is more vibrant.

Punky Color UltraViolet is what I used, and it was gorgeous. It's a Demi, so it lasts longer. It's a gorgeous color, really. I recommend it over manic panic, because I used that too.
