Go to sephora and ask for a few samples. They will give you a fair amount so you can wear a couple days of each. That way; when you do purchase one, you'll be satisfied!

I use Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation. You should get the brush that goes with it. It's pricey but incredible.

I've tried a few but the way I see it is like this:
Clinique is more for lighter skimmed people with dryer skin, and acne
Mac is more for people with darker skin
Estée Lauter is medium skin tones with oily skin
Makeup forever and smash box can be more in the middle for everything
Benefit is more for dryer skin bc it makes your skin greasier

I have tried everything from cheap drugstore brands to expensive high end brands of foundation. My absolute favorite is Revlon Colorstay Foundation. After trying it all, I ALWAYS come back to it. It's the best for staying on perfectly ALL DAY LONG without wearing off!! It's a matte, long-wear, full-coverage foundation, so if that's what type you're looking for, this is the holy grail. I use urban decay de-slick mattifying powder and clinique lash power mascara. I love the combination of products I use as I've found them to work the best!
