So, I got a whole bunch of new makeup the other day and was super excited to try it out. it was my first time using things like primer, concealer, undereye concealer stuff like that. well, when I went to put on my primer, not knowing what to expect, it absorbed into the cotton pad. lol, was this a mistake on my part? is it normal? naturally I just used my fingers and a cotton pad to blend it all in but I was definitely taken by surprise.

What kind of primer are you using? When I put my primer on, I just use my fingers to apply & blend it in as well.

I feel that a primer is supposed to be somewhat absorbed?? I'm not completely sure but I do not apply my primer like that. I use my trusty hands and fingers ;)

Just a basic e.l.f mineral infused face primer. its very light (and cheap) and does just what its supposed to.

Use clean fingers for primers and brushes for concealers.

You don't need a cotton ball to blend primer. Like Jabou said, if you use your fingers, make sure they're clean.

Wash your hands...dry them...apply a small amount of primer to your fingers...dot on your face all over...use your middle and ring finger to apply on your entire face.
