Tanning with a bed can cause skin cancer! I use a gradual tanning lotion like dove to prolong my tan without it looking fake :)

Well, I'd help you, but I have NEVER had a legit tan. I'm so pale, I just get burned. But I have a close friend who has medium tone skin, and she says sunscreen and tanning oil or whatever do almost the same thing, except sunscreen has higher SPF which can help prevent skin cancer.
