Did you dye your hair while pregnant? I've been trying to look this up online and I'm getting mixed answers. So I'm wondering what you ladies think. Also, did you paint your nails while pregnant?

I did both while pregnant with both of my children and they're perfectly healthy. I even went to the nail salon and got acrylics with my first one! I think the rules are to be in a well ventilated room, no on scalp bleach, and wait till your out of the first trimester

I waited on dying my hair but I think the nail polish is perfectly safe from day one. Talk to your dr about it just to be sure that's what I did. Everything I asked about was safe except the tanning bed lol.

When I was pregnant with my son I needed a hair dye bad! I heard it wasnt safe thou. so I asked my dr and he said it was perfectly safe to dye yur hair while pregnant. but make sure yu buy AMONIA FREE hair dye. and yu CANT bleach yur hair. as for getting yur nails done I'm not sure, but mayb, just in case, ask if yu could have one of the masks the manicurist wear when their doing yur nails? but if yu mean just regular nail polish, like at home, I'm pretty sure thats safe.

My dr basically told me that there is nothing that prices that dye can b harmful to your baby but there's nothing that says out isn't it's a personal decision you need to make like taking Tylenol whike your pregnant for a headache or backache. I did dye my hair n get my nail done n my daughter suffered no harmful effects from it :)

@Susie S. There's no harm that will come to your baby while pregnant, it's all a myth. I have dyed my hair and my baby is 100 percent healthy, you can try using vegan dyes if you feel unsure. How this helps love.

I'm a cosmetology student and I've always been taught that there is absolutely nothing wrong with dying your hair while pregnant because the dye isn't going into your blood stream.

I'm a hairdresser and yes I colored my hair and colored other peoples hair while I was pregnant. I did hair well into my 9th month. My dr said it was fine, especially since I've been around it for so long. Its a personal decision that you and your doctor should make. :-) congrats on your new addition!

My doctor said no color or bleaching until after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Then my midwife said after the first trimester. I colored my hair all throughout my pregnancy and everything turned out fine. The color may be a little off or not hold because of the hormones!

I didn't dye my hair while prego just as a personal decision but it isn't dangerous. Your hormones will affect how the dye works. It may not turn out like you expect if to. Nail polish & salons are also safe. Ventilation is key. If you're in a salon ask for a mask. It'll keep you from inhaling nail dust & all.
