I get my hair permed and I was wondering if you can colour your hair when it has a perm as well?

You CAN color your hair when you have a perm. My only suggestion is that you you treat your hair to some deep conditioning or hair masks, and wait maybe 2-3 weeks before you color your hair. If you color your hair right after the perm or something like that it'll leave your hair really weak and might cause really bad damage and breakage.

I'm a licensed cosmetologist and when I worked at Regis all my coworkers refused to do color on permed hair. It's very likely to break off more easily. If you go to a salon they will make you choose between one or the other.

I just finished cosmetology school and we were always told you can do color after a perm you should just wait a few weeks and a demi permanent color is best (which means not going lighter only darker). go to a salon and they will tell you what they think.
