Foundation on Eyelids?

Is it beneficial putting foundation on my eyelids before a primer and shadow or is it best just using a primer and shadow?. there's a lot of differing views out there and I just wana know what you girls think. :)

I do it just to make sure all my skin/face has the same surface.

Foundation is not needed if you use primer,)

I use foundation instead of primer... just make sure you properly remove all your make up and not wear the foundation on your eyelids everyday.
