Hi Beauties!
So for the past two months or so I have been getting on and off skin reactions to something... My face starts to peel. I find it extremely embarrassing. People don't notice it too much, but you know how it is, it's the only thing I seem to notice when I look in the mirror. Anyways, I do have eczema so my skin is naturally dry... I have a feeling it might be a gel cream that my dermatologist gave to me a few months ago for my blackheads because a day or two after I use it my skin starts to peel...
Well, I just need to know if there are any organic moisturizing DIY exfoliators or lotions that y'all know about.
It would mean the WORLD to me.
Thankssss (:

It is a possibility that the gel cream maybe over drying your skin causing it to replace the keratin in your skin faster because it pulling moisture from it. When you exfoliate it must be done with something that may have a cream wash to it. Something not harsh like a finely grated rice exfoliate... I only know of Dermalogica's daily exfoliate I know you asked for an organic... but that is the only one I know that is super soft yet effective... I have rosacea so my skin is ultra sensitive and that works for me. I'm an esthetician... Lotions there are tons but since you said you got a gel cream for blackheads and you have drying of the skin... I would say try a vitamin based cream not something with oils. Dry skin needs to keep moisture locked in... Dry skin is either our sebaceous glands not working properly (Aging overtime does that) OR Products ripping away our natural barrier we have and exposing it to pollutions and free radicals out in our crazy world. There is a difference and some confuse Dry skin to dehydrated skin but they are two different things. But not to get off subject it... sorry sounds like you have dry skin that from what you described was caused by this gel cream. Dry skin is more sensitive and its not as healthy due to the lack of lipids (oils). Skin can feel tight maybe a lil rough (possible peeling due to product) So I hope that helps... I use a night cream actually by avon and something from Dermalogica called Barrier repair it helps me keep moisture in after I apply my creams. But I know there is something called Fenix that is great too... IDK know if that helped but I hope it did somehow :)

Thank you! I helped a lot (: I have very weird skin though, my t-zone is very oily but if I have a rash or a reaction of any sort it becomes super irritated and very dry and cracky. I've had eczema since I was two years old, so I'm kind of used to applying moisturizers. Hopefully one of the ones you recommended will work! (:

If you're concerned that it's one of the products you're using, you can test that. When I try a new product, I do a simple experiment to see how it will affect me. Imagine a line down the middle of your face, then pick one side to be a "control" and one to be an "experiment." Use the product on the "experiment" side and stick to your normal routine on the other. After a week or two, you should be able to tell what kind of effect the product has on your skin.
