I love how their products are? Honestly they're my favorite but I hate that they test on animals :/ I feel guilty any time I use something by them but their products are great.

I agree. L'Oreal is one of my favourite drugstore brands but I hate that they test on animals.

I agree but I read somewhere that they are trying to switch to being cruelty free.

I heard it's becoming a law that companies can't test on animals anymore. I'm pretty sure Europe passed that law a few months ago.

I sure hope they make a law here so people can't test on animals.

Its really tricky to determine what cosmetic lines are 100% cruelty free. a lot of cosmetic companies can say they don't test on animals because their finished products aren't. however many lines that claim to be cruelty free use ingredients in their products that have been tested on animals. a big one is spf. there is currently no manufacturer that makes this ingredient that hasn't tested it on animals.

I read that they stopped animal testing on their website.

Also if you own any products that contain musk. musk comes from the glands of a musk deer, usually female, their musk is more valuable. but the deer is killed and then the glands are extracted from the carcass.

Loreal uses "when required by law" when a new ingredient and product is out loreal reserves the rt to test. by using this open ended statement, loreal and everything it owns, including Maybelline, YSL, lancome, Armani, all test. certain countries still test. such as ones not protected by EU. Loreal and French brands test. which is why Estee Lauder isn't cruelty free, MAC isn't, Origins isn't...there is more to the logistics that gets a heavy blanket.

There are not many regulations for the words cruelty free or vegan. unless it's certified...then it's different. currently brands cannot mislabel certified vegan if traces of animal bi products are found...and this goes.for gluten free certifications...etc. in time it will get sorted. I'm positive. EU passed...so its looking up.

Armani doesn't test their products on animals even though the line is owned by Loreal.

Love your comments Grace. an other brand owned by loreal that misleads its customers is the body shop. they claim to be cruelty free but as its been stated that term can be very loose.

Shelley none of their finished products are tested however the ingredients within those products have.

Oh my word...the Body Shop!! They disgust me. When they were sold out they stop their recycling program where you bring in their empties for discount. I love shopping there just for that very reason and plus it felt good to support the areas in which material was being pulled to make great stuff. Now its just absolute junk to me because it all smells fake to me. The butter creams were so great...not anymore. I bypass the store whenever I'm in the mall without zero regret.
