I feel like I look like a little kid when I do any kind of eyeshadow. Sometimes I do like to change up my everyday work makeup a bit but once I get to work I feel dumb like everyone thinks I look childish... Anyone else ever feel that way?

I usually will just do two light colors (I feel like I look awful if I use a light brow color/highlight) like a green and yellow or anything like that. I'm afraid of dark colors lol cuz it tends to like flick off the brush when I'm trying to blend and gets onto the side of my nose and then I can't get it off or even cover it.

Look up some colorful or glittery tutorials online. better yet go to Barnes and noble and find the magazine makeup store. color is the ultimate expression of artistry in make up. there is nothing childish about FASHION except the pure joy it can bring you and those around you. why be like everyone else? I will never get the neutral epidemic in the make up blogosphere.

Don't let everyone around you put a label on your creative side! Wear all the colors! :P
A tip on applying "crazy" eyeshadows: Put it on before your foundation, etc. It's easier to clean up, instead of covering up! ;)

Look into shadow shields. I just bought some and they work wonders on catching fallout from eyeshaow. I have even seen them used to create a clean line for lips.

I think the key to making bright colors wearable is to pick a bright focal point: the lids, a colorful liner on the top or bottom lash line, a colorful lipstick, etc. All the other neutral shades will tone it down.

Kind of like my pick I guess with a colorful liner in my bottom waterline.
