My hair is a medium brown and I'm wanting to get to a light brown.
I need tips and ideas on what to do and the safest way without damaging my hair. I'm not fussed if it's going to take awhile. Please help.

I guess dying at a salon would be less damaging and the safest,

Get the blond in Herbal Essence, in a pink box! It will lighten it up 3-4 levels and deposits color too so it doesn't leave you with brassy, orange hair. It's my fav and it's 6$!

Put Lemmon juice in your hair and sit outside when it is sunny! Makes a huge difference! I used to do it all the time because I wanted my blonde hair a lighter blonde but I have been outside so much this year I haven't had too. The Lemmon juice just speeds up the natural process of the sun! It will take a while but if you like being outside it shouldn't be a problem!

And lemon juice isn't that good for your hair. It will damage it.

It makes it lighter and gives you a nice blond natural glow! Try it, it is good and not that expensive.

Yes but be careful, if you are dark brown, your hair could be orange coloured :s. I would rather try it with lighter brown hair

I'd recommend going to a salon that is the least damaging. but if you want to do it on your own I recommend 2 things. if your hair has no color on it and hasnt you can take a tube of color (somewhere like sallys) that is like a level 6 and mix it with 20 or 30 colume developer (sallys also) and apply all over. THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOUE HAIR HAS NO PREVIOUS COLOR.

but if your hair has had color in the past I'd recommend getting some bleach amd 20 volume developer from sallys. start in the middle of the strand do that all over then do the ends and your scalp. this will help with a more even lift. keep watch on it, once its light enough rinse it off. don't leave it on longer then 45 minutes. pick the color light brown you want at sallys and get that and 10 volume developer, this is for after the bleach bc with bleach it doesn't always pull up even or go the right tone.

Don't use John Frieda on brown hair it's not what it's meant for!
