Hello Beauty babes,
Hope your day is going fab!

I am curious, what do you all use to make your videos and how do you edit them?
What camera & software do you use?

I record with my Samsung TL220 digital camera and edit with Microsoft edit movie, but have no idea how to edit my videos, LOL.

Any help and tips will be most appreciated.

Thank you!
Please follow, I will follow back beauty babes!

Camera: Kodak EasyShare C613.
Program: Windows Movie Maker usually but I finally have another trial of a Corel program for the next 30 days, so I'll be using that for the time being.

I really don't do anything fancy and videos don't need fancy editing. I just cut the stuff that doesn't need to be there, add text when I need to, and I'm done. Just don't stick the music where it doesn't need to be (aka right when you talk). As a hard of hearing person, that just drives me crazy.

Camera: Samsung SMX-F40 65X intelli Zoom Flash Camcorder
Program: Intelli Studio (it comes with the camera) and then after Windows Movie Maker to add music after.

Tips:
Most YouTube guru videos don't require hardcore editing, just some cutting of clips, narration and music track, so any basic software should do. I actually like hearing background music throughout the entire tutorial, but make sure to adjust the volume so it's low and doesn't drown out your voice. You can also add captions for people like Rikki who don't like background music because it makes it hard to hear.

Hope that helped :)

Well, I don't really care when it comes to tutorials because we can all see what people are doing so that's alright. But when it comes to makeup product reviews, favourites, etc. please pretty please with lots of iced coffees on top (lol), keep that music away from the main part of the video. I can't see what you think about an eyeshadow's pigmentation, texture, etc. (well I could because we know facial expressions but meh I don't wanna play a guessing game LOL) so just keep that part clean. I just watched (or attempted to watch) a bhcosmetics review and the tv was turned up so loudly I wanted to reach in that video and throw the tv out of the window LOL

Oh, and no incredibly choppy videos. When I show eyeshadow application, blending, etc. I usually keep it around ten seconds, sometimes a little bit longer for each thing depending on how "out there" the tutorial is. I'd usually do about five seconds of me first applying and then the other five, finishing up the application. So yeah, 56 seconds of you blending a crease colour isn't reeeeally necessary but five seconds each of eyeshadow/blending/cheek y'know, it can be way too choppy :P

I agree that music in reviews can be annoying sometimes, especially when it's really loud and doesn't fit.

And the choppy video thing...yeah. Don't go crazy with cutting the clips but know when you need to :) I recommend you try to get your videos down to around five to six minutes (though sometimes this depends on what the content of the video is).

Thanks so much ladies for your input!!!!
