Fears?

Okay, this has nothing to do with makeup, but considering it's Friday the 13th, I thought this could be a good conversation. But more importantly, my biggest irrational fear attacked me head on not one, but two times today! I've been arachnophobic essentially since I can remember. Since I was about 3. Preschool boys; long story. Anyway, So, I was on my laptop, and I see something on my keyboard. For half a second, I think it's nothing, but then instinct kicks in, and I tossed the laptop across my bed and made a break for it. I got my mom and brought her to my room, and then we saw it crawling onto my large bunny stuffed animal. My mom grabbed the bunny, and I ran to open the front door. She comes down the stairs with the bunny, but she got too close to me, so I shut the door on her (whoops) and dart back inside. She then was mad and threw the bunny at me. I screamed. A lot.
Secondly, I was on Ragestache, a site with rage comics (super awesome and funny, by the way) and I was reading through them before I come across a HUGE SPIDER FACE. A face. I looked at it for what must have been a 10th of a second, screaming as soon as I saw it in a shrill, blood-curdling sort of way, and my brother, who was calling from college and was on the phone with my mom, heard loud and clear. That was sooooooo terrifying, I started sobbing a little, and I made my mom close the tab. I'm kinda pissed that I didn't get to read the rest of the comics...

Whew. That's enough excitement for tonight, it was actually terrible. April has just been a very spider-y month for me and that's completely blown. What are your guy's fears/stories? I am also afraid of cameras/being photographed, which is weird considering I'm a beauty blogger/vlogger... A well.

Tornadoes. Need I explain more? LOL I'm not talking about EF0s or even EF1s. I'm talking Tuscaloosa and Joplin EF5 monsters, hahaha. I track weather every day as a hobby (and Heather chuckles at me <3). I will take your severe thunderstorms with lots of wind, hail, and lightning. I'll even take your flooding (well unless it's going to cover half my house of course), but tornado warnings would make me flip. I love tracking 'em when they're away from me (and yes i do think they look awesome in pictures/from far away but i hate how terrible they are), but I hate getting 'em, hahaha. Didn't help that you didn't know if it was a weak tornado (EF0) or something bigger (2 and more). But since they've made new alerts since the beginning of this month(explaining if it's a weak tornado or something dangerous), I'll most likely freak out less. Well, if they go "oh it's a weak one" lol I'd probably just be like "oh ok i'll just sit on the bathroom floor" instead of "HOLY DOCTOR WHO GET YOUR BUTT IN THE TUB GET ALL THE CATS GET A HELMET"

... no wonder heather chuckles at me i love babbling about weather.

(really though april 27th 2011 was not a fun day.)

and there's a severe weather/tornado outbreak in the plains for the next 36 hours. ohhh, let the tracking begin.

My biggest irrational fear is dead bugs. Not live ones- I like live bugs. They're cool. But for some reason, the moment they're dead, they freak me out. I think it's because they have such robotic bodies that it's hard to tell sometimes if they're alive or dead. Like they were soulless little machines to begin with, so now that they're dead they could easily be reanimated somehow. I don't know, it really isn't a survival or safety thing at all!

But a more rational fear is mirrors. (At least compared to dead little bugs) I have to cover up any mirrors at night because what if I look in it and I see something behind me but when I turn around it's not there?!?! That's pretty much the scariest thing I can think of. I've watched way too many horror movies.

Chickens and roosters.... don't even go there, I hate touching them, I am just eugh!!

Wow, Krystal. That's really messed up of them. Stuff like that is really risky and something terrible could have happened.

@Rikki: Luckily, I live in an area where we've never had tornados. A few warnings, but never had one. We actually don't really have many natural disasters here at all. So I don't really think about them. But that's definitely a more rational fear than mine!

@Catey: You are definitely right. Dead bugs are so creepy. I'm not afraid of any bugs except for spiders. Well, unless one looks like a spider when I glance at it. But covering up mirrors at night sounds like a lot of work! I'm not a big fan of horror movies, not because they scare me too much... I don't know, I just think they're all the same. They're fun on Halloween, though!

@Richelle: One of my friends is terrified of ostriches. But I don't think that I've ever met anyone that's afraid of roosters. That's understandable, though. I was kind of afraid of cat birds for a while because there were some with a nest right outside my house, and every time I would pass them, they would peck my head!

@Krystal: I'm so sorry. Nothing that intense has ever happened to me. My friends know that I'm afraid of spiders. It's pretty obvious; I throw books when a picture of them is in a book, I scream bloody murder when I see one, and this has been going on forever. So some of my friends think that it's funny to email me pictures. Last year on April Fools Day, my friend Dan asked me to come over to his computer in English class to read over his story (because I'm a well known grammar nazi) and then he switches tabs to google images where there is a lovely picture of a spider! My scream really freaked out the teacher; she thought I was going to die. The stories are always funny afterwards, so I don't really mind, but in the moment, it's so terrifying.

Which state do you live in?
EDIT: Oh, and I didn't think my county ever had anything dangerous because I don't live in tornado alley... turns out we had an EF4 once. Dang. o.o But I wasn't alive when it happened :P

Well, it looks like my county hasn't had a tornado in about 18 years. Since the year my brother was born. Lucky us!

Fish or generally most things that come out of the sea! I can't cope with them, slightly weird but hey!

On the more normal fears i detest Spiders :)

I hate amusement parks! There are almost no rides that I will go on, and I pretty much try to avoid them. Luckily, the last time I had to go to one was our middle school music program annual field trip to one. In high school chorus gets to go to New York every year, which is so much more awesome! Give me Broadway over roller coasters any day! (Well, Broadway over just about anything.) I'm okay with planes, but when I went on one when I was about 12, I started crying, because it had been so long since I'd been in one, I was really uncomfortable. After we took off, I enjoyed myself, though. I used to kind of be afraid of being awkward, but I've gotten over it so much recently. I don't care what people think of me hardly at all anymore, and it's a really freeing feeling. I hope you can get there too. The dark kind of creeps me out sometimes, but I wouldn't say that I"m afraid of it...

Yes! Another spider person! Finally. Fish... That sounds like a tough one to deal with. They're all over the place!

I hate clusters! Not really afraid of them but I just get suck to my stomach when I see a clusters of something or something that's bunched together. I'm talking about clusters of mushrooms or fungus on the side of tree, ringworm, the way the seeds look on a strawberry, insects grouped together and climbing on top of one another, they way frogs lay eggs on there back and they start growing, small dots that aren't spread out evenly, blackheads on the side of a nose, ugh all things that cluster disturbed me. I even hate the word cluster.

Huh, that's a strange one... I can sort of understand it, though. Especially bugs crawling on top of each other! The worst!

i know this is a weird one but i have of fear of diseases even though I'm fine and go to the doctor regularly i just still fear that i might have one. Then I'm afraid to be around alot of people, scared to have the blinds open to get sunlight so my apt. is always dark and afraid of the world ending. weirdo i know dont judge me

No judgment here! I'm also terribly afraid of forgetting things. Not facts, but like memories. And I'm undergoing a terrible episode of that right now, and after a mental breakdown today, I see quite a few more for the rest of the week. Ugh. I should enjoy the memory while I have it at all... Not cry about it leaving. See? No judgment.

@Krystal - oh my god, what a horrible thing to go through! I hope karma got back at those idiots - it sickens me to think we live in the same world as people like that!!

I'm another spider person! Even when they're dead they freak me out - just the way their bodies curl up, uuuuugh. I have a few dumb fears as well, I know myself I can be a bit paranoid and I've had my fair share of bullies based on how I look and stuff like that. I always get worried and think people are talking behind my back or laughing at me or something hahaha! Silly I know.

Oh, that's not silly. Of course that could happened to someone who's been bullied, and I'm so sorry. That's a terrible thing to go through. And yes, dead spiders are terrible too, but at least I can get someone to catch them easier than the ones scurrying around my room! Ugh!
