I can't get a clear enough picture but what is cakey makeup? Usually what happens to my makeup is you can see like dots like my pores? But they're with makeup? It's hard to explain, no matter how much I blend or what primer I use, I never achieve that flawless, shiny, dewy look. Why?

Maybe it's the technique you use what do you apply your makeup with?

Do you use foundation or powder!! Maybe try dabbing foundation on and pressing powder into your cheecks to minimize them.

I use liquid foundation, and I use a sephora brush. I also put makeup forever's micro translucent powder but nothing. I use smashbox's bb cream.

It just looks heavy like it usually happen when you use too much or don't blend it out enough and it will settle into all your pores n fine lines so instead of an air brushed look that most people try to achieve it just looks... well cakey its hard to describe but I usually see it on older women who wear too much heavy foundation

I use almay smart shade, and mary kay powder, and apply it with those wedge shaped makeup things. I forget what they're called. but it works.

It could be the product. I've had foundations cake up on me but my technique never changed. imagine someone applying their foundation as they would frosting - in thick obvious layers. that's what cakey looks like :)

I suggest using a beauty blender or dupe. wet it and take as much water as you can out of it. put dots on your cheeks, forehead and chin. put mor if you feel it doesn't cover enough. stipple it outwardly and it should make your pores seem smaller. when you use powder use a fan brush and put it on as lightly as you can. use a setting spray if you put too much powder on because it makes it seem more dewey.
