I don't want to use a lot of heat if any, but my hair is already pretty straight and somewhat long and buns don't work too well for my hair since everything falls out.

Fishtail braids are great for long layered hair (personal experience) or French braid when it's wet and let it dry.

Layers are hard to style but you could try a lose side fishtail because e style is to wear it loose and pooping out:)

Take a shower at night wait until hair is damp. Put CONAIR curlers in your hair and go to sleep and walk up to pretty wavy hair!!
