I would use definitely medium sized hot rollers for this. Spritz each piece of hair lightly with some hair spray before you roll it. I would curl the hair in an inward motion tilted slightly away from your face, holding/pinning them vertically. When they've finally cooled, you can unclip the rollers and gently unroll each one. Then use a soft (boar) bristle brush or your fingers to gently brush through the curls and "shape" them. I usually run a little argan oil through the ends at that time to give it the sleek look. Finish it off with some hair spray and it should stay all day long! That may not get it *exactly* right, but it should give a similar look that you could play around with to perfect!

Yes use rollers, take large but even sections of hair. Be sure to brush through them to give it that soft look.
