Put your hair in thru the middle then secure the rest around the bun with bobby pins. Youtube has some great diy sock bun tutorials.

Like this. Cut the end of a suck put it through the top of your ponytail. Roll the end of the ponytail around the sock and keep rolling and pulling it might not look right in the process but keep doing it.
