I think you shouldn't chop it off, but rather explore some more layers! Layers always add that extra ooompf, you know? Especially in the volume department! Your hair looks so shiny and soft, I'm quite jealous!

Oh that photo is adorable! shorter layers, especially around the crown area, to me, are great for volume, but they do not work for all hair types. When I think of layers, I love my shortest layer just below my ear, next at my chin to frame my face, and last at my shoulders. You can always add volume by adding mouse to your hair, or even by teasing around the crown!

Get layers and dye your hair a dark brown! I would cut it to your collarbone and then get layers. Also try parting it on the side!
