I used to apply my foundation with a sponge but have recently discovered how beautiful using a brush to apply my foundation looks. With that in mind I am wondering what the best way to clean my brushes would be. I used to clean my eyeshadow brushes with shampoo but it left my brushes looking... well... messy. Like a bad morning hairdo. I just forked out $50 for some MAC brushes and want to keep them looking and working their best. Any suggestions?

I've never had an issue just washing my brushes with baby shampoo. (Sometimes, with my foundation brush, I'll mix in a little bit of a different shampoo with the baby shampoo to help clean it a bit more.)
If shampoo alone doesn't work for you, you may want to combine it with EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil).

I didnt even think about baby shampoo. Its so much more gental then regular shampoo. Great idea. I just bought a new bottle of EVOO today. I will give it a try! Thank you!!

I use alcohol in a spray bottle, to spray the brush and wipe the pigment away on a piece of old t-shirt cloth. It sanitizes and it evaporates in under a minute. You shouldn't be deep cleaning with shampoo every day though

i use a few different things. 99% alcohol in a spray bottle for quick cleans. olive oil and baby shampoo for more of a deep clean. hope this helps! :)
