What does it do exactly? I've heard it keeps blondes from going brassy but what else?

Purple/blue shampoos are designed to tone down the harsh yellows and gold tones in blonde hair, particularly chemically processed hair.

Purple shampoo does exactly what they have said, its for blonde and grey hair girls, it keep your color looking fresh from the salon and some people blonde fades and looks yellow/faeded before salon visits so it tones it like they do in the salon for fresh color. I would recommend it I use it and it makes the color look fresh!

I use Schwarzkopf for blondes and it's amazing, it's the deepest purple shampoo I know.

It pulls out gold tones and makes your blonde hair more platinum/silvery.
