i've been washing my face twice a day for months now! but there are still a few bumps along my forehead.. -____- i drink water in a moderate amount too. i was thinking of buying cleansing products like toner & stuffs.

So could you give me your favourite ones as i'm pretty clueless with these stuffs, haha. i was thinking of getting st.ives green tea scrub and toner. do you think it'll work? thanks ♥

my favourite is by Bioderma! their sebum h2o and sebum exfoliating gel cleanser works amazing! Also use Biore pore strips! it helps in the process of clearer skin :)

Sometimes if you cleanse to much you're skin will over produce sebum. Even if you have acne/blackheads/oily skin, you should moisturize and use a gentle cleaner. For instance I used to wash my face twice a day and I couldn't figure out why I kept breaking out, my skin was clean, so what was happening? Then I cut down to using a moisturizing facial wipe and moisturizer during the day and full cleansing (cleanser/toner) only at night. WAHLAH! cleared up skin.

I dont recommend st ives scrubs, theyre suppose to be really harsh!
It's good that youre washing your face but you must use a facewash targeted to your skin type (oily, acne prone) as well as an oil free moisturizer (assuming you have oily skin - you still need to moisturize, or else itll produce excess oil!). So first a cleanser suited to your skintype, that will be the first step in your AM/PM routine. Then an exfoliator with salycic acid in it, such as clean & clear's blackhead clearing scrub, focusing it on problem areas rather than the entire face because it's medicated and might irritate the parts of your face that dont have spots. After this, use a toner such as neutrogena's pore refining toner, and then follow up with your oil free moisturizer. Once every week, use a face mask and if you have spots you can also use salycic acid spot treatment (they have spot treatment gels in everydrugstore in the skincare aisle, hard to miss).
I was never acne prone, but i have oily/combo skin and have completely treated my blackhead-covered nose with a routine just like this. If you maintain your skin, it shouldnt act out as much. Make sure to also pay close attention to it, observing how it reacts to the products.

I think I sometimes might wash my face too much but anyways, I tried this mystic "put a regular glue on your blackheads, rip it off and ta-da! they're gone" well... this trick didn't work with my nose (I have most of my blackheads in there) but it worked in my forehead :o I guess that I have my nose's blackheads so deep in my skin so that they won't come out with some glue or anything:D Maybe the cosmetologist could help...

TONER TONER TONER .. nutragena has an amazing one for that

First off, do you have an extremely oily face? Sometimes if you use too many products every day your face will break out for that sheer fact ;/ Trust me it's a real bummer for those of us with sensitive skin. Exfoliating should help a lot. Try to find gentle toners, I myself am a normal/dry combo so almost every toner drys out my skin. You should be fine if ur not a dry type though. Murad has a pretty good toner from what I hear :)

The st.ives green tea line dried my skin out so muuuch, it was terrible! Try a skin care line form the body shop! I love it, I have all my skincare line from there except my cleanser with is Clearasil. but yeah, the body shop is great(:

i use something called acne free skin clearing system. its a set of 3 products that work like proactiv but are only $17-$20. i use the regular strength formula and i love it. it comes in a sensitive formula that i recommended to a friend and it cleared up his skin really quickly without drying out his skin. give it a try :)

Blackheads won't heal as fast if you don't pop them. Gross I know, but there's a tool that Sephora sells specifically made for popping blackheads and tiny white bumps.

Derma E makes a Vitamin A & Glycolic facial scrub that is amazing. It's gentle enough to use every night and I have definitely noticed the blackheads on my nose and chin have gotten better.

OH and I forgot...they make a Vitamin A & Glycolic toner that is great as well. I use it after the scrub at night, then my regular moisturizer.

I had very bad skin for a while and benzoyl peroxide (2.5 to 5% if you havent used it before) is effective for a lot of people or salicylic acid. Make sure to start with a low percentage! It is an over the counter drug that in my opinion is definitely worth a go.

Also know that popping pimples, black heads and cysts can possibly lead to scars.
