You can spot clean them with Mac brush cleanser after you use them, if you want. Or once a week I was my brushes in L'oreal kids shampoo! You could even use baby shampoo because it won't be harsh on the hairs!
Good luck!

I use my MAC brush cleanser sometimes, but for deep cleaning I usually use Johnson & Johnson (think that's the name) baby shampoo. Sometimes I mix it with a little olive oil to condition the brushes and keep them from getting dry, but I only do that occasionally.

I use Mona Lisa's Pink Soap for the last year after someone else from here recommended it and now I recommend it. For spot cleaning I use alcohol since more spray brush cleaners are either rubbing alcohol or ethyl alcohol (aka vodka)

Yes, yes, YES. Clean your brushes. Dirty bacteria on your face is a no-no. I just use the MAC cleanser for spot cleaning (and I used to use the ELF one) and the Sonia Kashuk cleanser for deep cleaning. But when I run out of that, I'm just going back to using my shampoo.

I usually give my fave the day off when I clean my brushes, I rinse them first in hot water to loosen all the product, then let them soak overnight in a shampoo with more hot water..after they've soaked I rinsed them in cold water to reshape the bristles..and store..make sure you have extra brushes, just in case you have to run out and go party!

Spot cleaning - rubbing alcohol
Deep cleaning - hair conditioner works wonders!

@Bees H. "Once a week I follow Michelle Phan's technique using Palmolive Antibacterial soap and Olive oil." -- It's not her technique though. That trick (using a dish soap and olive oil) has been around since the 1980s and possibly even before then. Everything I've seen her do that's DIY came from someone else. I remember many of the tips she's shared being shared back in the 1980s on Oprah and other daytime talk shows.
