I think I used too much product in my hair :(

I used this John Frieda product called "straight fixation" smoothing creme and I went by the directions but must have used to much or waited till my hair was too dry to put it on so now my hair feels really stiff :/ is there anything I can do to fix it from feeling like straw without washing my hair again??

The directions were to work through wet or damp hair and then blow dry. I've already blow dried it so I can't just brush it out.

Water might make it sticky and unmanageable so I would prob just wash it with shampoo.
