Start off slow!! do simple designs like small polka dots or lines and work from there practice makes perfect.

Start just by focusing on perfecting painting your nails one colour. It will help you to learn to control your hand and then you can move on to easy things. Some of the first stuff I bought was the super easy nail art stuff (you can see my hauls at http://bit.ly/128vu4d, http://bit.ly/15fgiEC). But really it is all practice. Practice, practice, practice.
