I'm freaking because I feel like my hair is falling out! It's healthy and trimmed often so I don't think it's breakage. Could it be thyroid issues? I don't have much hair to begin with and bald would NOT be a good look for me! Have anybody gone through this?

Were you diagnose with thyroid issues?

I was diagnosed with Graves' disease at 15 and never experienced any hair falling out but everyone has different symptoms! It could by Hashimodos (sorry about the spelling) Thyroiditis or another thyroid issue...they're super common and normally easily treatable :) Go to your doctor and ask them to check your thyroid levels!

I have just started biotin. I don't have any other symptoms of thyroid disease and it doesn't run in the family. Wish I'd gotten the genes for thick hair! I got fine, blonde hair from my grandmother!

It started before the biotin right? Hair loss (even seemingly excessive) is normal and the rate can vary depending on circumstances. For instance I was stressed through the roof last year and experienced it big time. These and other factors can contribute but if it seems extreme go see a doctor! Better to be safe! If it is medical hopefully you can treat it. Good luck!

I'd see an endocrinologist or ask my MD to test my thyroid.

I feel for you Miranda. My very best girlfriend had to have her thyroid taken out about a year and a half ago, she recently started having a substantial amount of hair loss. She has been a mess about it for her hair was so thick and beautiful. She went to a dermatologist and they put her on biotin, so far she is very happy with the results. It took a few months to work but she highly recommends it to anyone who is suffering with the same problem. Also I told her about using a coconut oil treatment (which I learned from this awesome place) and she said that actually helped her a lot. Strengthened it a ton and made it nice and shiny. I hope everything goes well with you and good luck lovely💜
