I know this is mostly a beauty website but I want opinions. I have been a receptionist for 6 years and I am tired of people. I want more of a carrier. Maybe go get a degree that would help me secure a higher paid more professional job. But what would that be? Honestly my dream job would be working in a cubicle alone and going home. I am super burnt out I guess. Suggestions?

Any job where you're in a lab def. cuts down the amount of face-to-face time with people... Late night security... That's all I can think of. =P

You could try medical billing? They have a lot of programs out there that are less than two years to learn the basics and you can work from home once you have a good grasp on the business. A lot of people make a career out of this kind of work because people are always going to get sick and doctors are always going to need people to process the bills. Just an idea!

Have you sat down and wrote down all your interests? What is that you'd like to see yourself doing? It can be mudane right down to outrageous....at least it will open you up to thinking about all the possibilities. If you are seriously considering going back to school now would be the best time ever to get a 2year or 4 year degree. I'm in my senior year right now and I'm seeing a huge difference in how it was the first go around for me in comparision to now. My first go around in college was in 1992 and let me tell you with federal financial aid getting tougher and tougher to obtain and all the new restrictions in place, getting a college education in the future may only be set aside for the super wealthy. If you live close by to a community college see if they offer a career assessment test...basically it ask you a bunch of questions about what you do and don't like and it gives you results of possible career paths. Its worth looking into. :)
