but I don't have a wide selection of foundation and concealer shades.
I'm thinking about just ordering a couple of the Coastal Scents HD Foundation sample packets so I'll have every shade necessary for several girls, and also getting one of their concealer palettes.
The rest of the make up I would be using is higher end, I just don't want to splurge on foundation and concealer right now because I don't really have any money saved up to begin a real kit.
Any ideas and/or advice?

Personally, i use airbrush and it is a little expensive but you can mix the colors together to get the perfect color and go over it for coverage. Try to get good primers, and a good range of concealers also the concealers that cancel out other colors like green cancels out red etc. And in drugstores they have these photo ready foundations, powders, and concealers. You can just get the translucent one to work with all skin types. And make sure to do false lashes. Good luck ! (:

I think you might have missed prom season...if you are doing this as a volunteer to gain experience and help out students who don't know how to do their makeup then I don't think there's nothing wrong with asking them to bring their own powder/foundation. If you can't afford it then it's best they bring their own..only if you are doing this for free and already providing the rest of the makeup.

Thanks for responding ladies, I guess I should have updated this information sooner, but I didn't have enough girls in my area that were going to prom this year anyway. I will definitely keep these tips in mind for next year though! I'll be nearly finished with cosmetology school at that time so maybe I can help them with hair as well.
I definitely think when I get some disposable income I'm going to invest in those RCMA palettes. I've heard nothing but great things about them. Once again, thanks ladies!
