First of all I'd like to say I had no idea this place existed until yesterday, and I'm pretty thrilled.
Here's the problem I'm having. My routine is primer, foundation, powder on t-zone, contour, setting spray. Right now where I'm at its getting warmer with about 90% humidity. My face looks just fine in the morning, but once I start moving and sweating, by the evening I look SO cakey. You'd think I poured a half of a bottle on my face!
I've tried different applications methods, using less of everything, I'm at a loss. Also worth mentioning a bb cream, tinted moisturizer wouldn't work for the coverage I need right now.
Now that my novel is finished, does anybody have any suggestions for me? I'm not okay with going without a full face, but I'm also very uncomfortable with how I look by 5 p.m. Thanks in advance!

This will fix your problem and one of the beat tricks I ever learned. After apply foundation and concealer split a tissue in have a press one of the half into your skin. Pigment with stay but excess oil will be removed. This trick is absolute magic.

Try buying a foundation for "oily" skin...it won't have any oils in the foundation to mix with your sweat...I had this problem an changed it in a blink of the eye.
-hope I could help

Thank Em, I'll have to try that, have to say that'd never crossed my mind!
And Olivia, would that be before powder, etc?
And Mookey, combination dry, but where I am oily, it is OILY.

Depending on the amount of coverage you need and exactly where (for me, it's mostly the cheeks), I would say try switching over to a mineral foundation. What I do is use a primer, wait for it to set, concealer, contour, and then apply my mineral foundation. In my tzone, I use a layer of setting powder also. Then I do my blush. Contouring under your mineral foundation gives a more natural contour. If you highlight, I would recommend doing it under your mineral foundation as well. If I have a long day ahead, I go and spritz on some setting spray. It usually lasts me for a good 9-10 hours.

Def try milk of magnesia as the other ladies suggested. It's a miracle for any level of oiliness on the skin!

I try to use tinted moisturizer during that season.

Powder some baby powder on your face. Also, I found that wearing the absolute bare minimum on my face works out really well. I also find that drugstore foundations are not good for summer wear. They All get pretty oily and cakey by mid-day. I use Mac Foundation on both myself and my clients, and that foundation seems to make everyone the happiest. :) Try it out if you haven't :)

These are all great suggestions, thank you! I'd never heard of using milk of magnesia as a primer, how interesting. Thanks again for the input!

I think the problem is that you're putting too much on your face for the weather... also if you don't want to wear less go with oil free products that are really light

Also keep some powder with you if all else fails!

Still haven't gotten any milk of magnesia to try, but it looks like I'm going to have to probably switch to a tinted moisturizer. Today, I used my regular primer applied as little foundation as possible, blotted, powdered t-zone lightly..and still, I barely touched my eyebrow and about half came off on my finger, d'oh.
But I still appreciate all the input ladies!
