I've heard of BB creams before but have never taken much of an interest in them until now. I'm generally interested in the fact that some claim to fade acne scars and even out the skin tone. At the same time, I really don't want to risk using one that's going to break me out, because that kind of defeats the purpose of wanting it to fade my acne scars. Any suggestions?

Get Dr. Jart+ ... it's 50% water and it definitely won't cause your skin to breakout...it works really well, it has excellent coverage and it goes on so nicely and it made my skin look really dewy and pretty!

I'll check it out, thanks! Do you know if it helps with the fading of acne marks? My skin is free of blemishes right now but I still have those pesky scars...

I would use one of these :
1.http://www.amazon.com/BB-Silver-Label-Rejuvenating-Blemish/dp/B002L9ZBPM
2. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P285403&categoryId=B70
not to sound like I'm promoting this brand but I just feel like its so fresh and clean feeling, while providing good coverage and rejuvenating your skin at the same time! I think they would be the best for making your skin feel smoother and softer...while they can't entirely correct the scars, they will definitely help!!
here are some really good testimonials I read about the first one :

it's kind of a weird website haha...but it shows actual before and after photos!!

I've never really tried Dr. Jart before but there has been lots of hype on it, and tons of gurus have been talking about it. Personally I really enjoy using Skin 79's Pink Label BB Cream. It has sun protection too.

Coincidentally, I just reviewed the Estee Lauder BB Creme on my blog. Love this one! Makes my skin feel healthy and doesn't feel really heavy. Check it out!

Skin79 Hot Pink Triple Functions BB Cream!
i bought this a few months ago 7 i'm loving it ever since! since i'm not looking for a foundation-type BB, this was my perfect match! it has a pretty flowery smell while you put it on. Also, it has a SPF25 PA++. once oxidized, your skin will be smooth as a baby's butt & your skin will give a healthy glow! :)
If you're looking for a less-foundation, moisturizer, nice-smelling BB, go for this!
You can buy one here, ebay has pretty cheap deals for an awesome product!

I also recommend Skin79 Super+ BB Cream (pink label). It effectively hides the redness and pores on my skin. Right after you apply it, it makes your skin look pale/greyish. But like Tasha mentioned, it matches your skin tone after it oxidizes. For better spot coverage, you can layer more products or apply a concealer on top of the BB cream. The price is very reasonable and you get a fairly good amount of product.

I currently use Smashbox's BB cream. I like it, but I don't really have much to compare it to. The only issue I have is with their skin tone distinctions. I feel like their dark shade is still too light for me. They need one more darker shade and then I'd be set. It a fairly decent product, but I wouldn't swear by it. If I found something else that was better, then I'd use that :)

I just was introduced to the Estee Lauder BB Cream and it is amazing. They have it in two shades Light & Medium . When I used it on clients it made their skin look flawless an airbrushed illuminating effect before foundation, after foundation just a healthy glow to their skin. I love this product.

Even though it's a drugstore find, I am in love with the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream. It is my first foray into the B.B. Cream scene, so I wanted to try one that was a little less expensive. I just posted about it on my blog today, actually. http://beautybylindsay.blogspot.com/2012/03/workin-it-out.html I can even exercise with it on!

I really like the Skin79 Hot Pink Super+ BB Cream! I bought mine from Ebay for 17 dollars CDN. Make sure it's authentic because there's a lot of fakes out there. It first goes on really white but it turns darker after. I like to lightly top it off with powder foundation to make it more longer lasting.

I agree with Lindsay. The new Garnier BB Cream, while inexpensive works awesome. It really evens out your skin tone and lasts.

The Garnier BB Cream is actually just a tinted moisturizer, just thicker. That one won't do anything to your acne scars. The Dr Jart is a good option. Also the Asian ones (Missha, HolikaHolika, Skin79, etc.) are also very good options. The Western ones are usually more towards the thicker versions of tinted moisturizars rather than actual BB creams.
If you feel like venturing to Ebay, this is a realiable seller. I've had good experiences and people I know as well. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bellogirl

Honestly, I recommend trying BB creams from Asia because they've been around a lot longer there and the companies have had more experience in formulating their creams so they tend to perform a lot better. The BB Creams here in America, I've noticed, are more fancy tinted moisturizers while the BB Creams in Asia actually have skin healing properties, their only downfall being a very limited range of shades.
I would recommend trying Skin79 Super+ VIP Gold BB Cream if you're looking for sheer/medium coverage but if you're looking for fuller coverage I'd recommend Lioele Triple the Function BB Cream. You can find these products on Amazon, they also happen to be a lot cheaper than the American BB Creams as well, so that's another plus!
Hope this helps(:

Thanks everyone. I'm going to look into it more when I have more money. I have a few of the ones mentioned bookmarked.

I'm in love with the Misha M BB Cream. I used it whenever I go to the beach (because of it's SPF). The only problem with it is that you have to special order it (it's from Asia) and it has a bleaching effect on the skin (which is no problem for me because I like being pale). It feels so nice on the skin like I am just putting on lotion. I do recommend it for fair skinned people.
