So I'm going out tonight and I was wondering what colour eyeshadow I should do.
My glasses are purple and I love wearing purple eyeshadow, but do you think that would be too much purple?
My eyes are green and I love wearing green eyeshadow (what a predicament!)
Would a different colour be better?

okay so ur glasses are purple and ur eyes are green y not try a look with orangy/red tones and maybe a little yellow for pop of color

You could try doing just a dark smoky green look and let the purple of your glasses be the real pop of color. Or you could do a simple cat eye look but on the bottom lash line, line with a bright purple shadow similar to the color of your glasses, and it will make your green eyes pop!

if u really want to ever figure out what colors match what such as eye color or clothing then use color theory 101 .... a color wheel you can pick them up from any at supply store for less than 2 bucks for a small one and it explains it all

Just also to add to the theory behind the color wheel u can do a green smoky eye but to make any eye color pop u always go with the color that contrasts with that color which in your case u have green eyes the contrasting color is red or any tone of color that has a red undertone which both orange and purples do and u can also do a neutrals which would be yours browns with a gold tone to it the main thing is its makeup it can always be removed but its spring so have fun with it and step outside ur comfort zone a cat eye would be sexy for someone that has contacts but with the kind of glasses u have which r great shape for face a cat eye would be downplayed by ur glasses where as a colorful shadow that contrasts with your eyecolor would always stand out:-)

I think gold, bronze, and brown tones would be flattering on hazel eyes.
