I did my own :/ haha, as well as almost every other piercing minus my septum and the first time my bridge was done... anyways, the initial piercing isnt painful, it will be sore though. you can get such awesome jewelry these days! just be careful with your shower poof. Get it done professionally! I did mine myself with a hollow needle & it was difficult. the procedure itself is pretty quick & painless but the healing process is what's a pain! you need to keep up with aftercare & be EXTREMELY careful. I had mine for 3 years & it would randomly get irritated & gross. I lost a lot of weight causing it to move around & it grew a keloid so I gave up on it. I now have a strange looking scar from it haha. I've heard a lot of people have had good luck with them though!

I have a few, must say my belly button piercing healed the fastest and hasn't irritated or anything. I have a simple clear stone in mine as I think some ott jewellery makes it look cheap? For me personally it wasn't painful. It was a bit sore for a while but that's it. You need to clean it regularly to make sure it doesn't get infected. I used warm water and salt.

I had it get infected both times & grew weird cysts on them... Be very careful & you should be fine! It wasn't very painful at all! I'm thinking about doing it again, if it wasn't so dang expensive here (over 100 at the shops)!

I have mine for 3 years now. The pain was nothing and I have a very low pain tolerance. It healed really fast for me (about 6 weeks). And it wasn't sore at all.

In my opinion it didn't hurt, and as long as you clean it like you are suppose to (and make sure you have it done by a professional) you will have no problems with it. If they don't open the needle and all of that stuff in front of you, don't trust!
