Does anyone else on here live or work in Mexico? There are very few brands to choose from in comparison to the states and the few brands that are available are incredibly expensive. Has anyone else noticed this?

I live in the state of Veracruz. On the east coast. It's usually best when I can just stock up on stuff when I'm stateside but with my husbands work we don't get many opportunities to visit. But as an MUA, I'm constantly trying to stay ahead of trends and products and it is difficult here.

They are more expensive because they pay customs fee and taxes bc they are imported. Mac lipsticks are usually $15 bucks whereas in mexico $255 pesos which is about $20 bucks.

Wow Joyce and Ashlyn, nice to know you are from around here. I am not originally from Mexico. From Montana. But my husband has a work contract here, so we are going to be here awhile. I assume that anywhere outside of the states, US brands cost more because of import tax, just as different states pay more tax. I just hate paying those prices here when I know I can get them for less money in the states and even less with Pro discounts. That is one of the only things I don't like about living here. And my clients really want a greater variety of products that they can purchase themselves.

My parents are from Tampico and we would vacation there often. I loved buying NYX, more so because they had a bigger selection over there than where I lived here in the states
