Should I use. Fake tan to help cover it.

No, don't use fake tan products in attempt to cover it up as its only going to appear uneven. If you're not protecting your skin with a broad spectrum suscreen (UVA + UVB) containing either titanium dioxide or zinc oxide to prevent further darkening of the area in question. When it comes to make-up I suggest using Becca or DermaBlend. I also hear great things about Kat Von D's line (can be found at Sephora). All three offer great full-coverage.
