It's better if you go to the salon who did it. And it's salter if you bite them off you might ruin your actual nail. I had the gel ones and they lady was super fast and hey I was already there so got my nails painted (:

I soak them in acetone then use an electric filer to file them off quickly

Dip cotton balls in pure acetone, squeeze them around your finger tips and cover with foil to hold them in place for about 20 min. Mold the foil to your finger tips ;)

Soak them in acetone, there will probably be instructions on how to get them off on the box or in the package they came in.
