BB Creams on the asian market are totally different from BB Creams in the western market. From my own experience, the western BB creams are pretty much just tinted moisturizers. I'm not at all clear on the logic behind brands choosing to market one product as a tinted moisturizer and one product as a BB cream.
Just looking and swatching in stores, it looked like most of the brands BB creams came in a super limited range of shades. Personally if you're looking for something lighter than a foundation with lots of moisture and sunscreen, I'd recommend the new Nars tinted moisturizer. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it's fantastic. Or you could just mix moisturizer with your favorite foundation to sheer it out.

BB cream is known to be a Blemish Balm. BB creams are sometimes used like a primer under foundation, and if tinted may supposedly replace foundation and some newer ones are advertised as having functions of primer, foundation, moisturizer, sun block, pore minimization and skin refining together, making them an economic skin care solution.

As far as where to get an affordable BB Cream- Garnier Fructis makes one in two shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Dark. I'm an NW15/20 and use the Light/Medium and it works great. It's around $13 (I bought mine at CVS). I love it and use it now more than foundation. It's very sheer but a product that benefit's your skin. I use it all over my face and then just conceal where I need more coverage.

If you want to go for an actual BB cream, don't even bother going for the American BS stuff, hah. They aren't BB creams at all. They're just tinted moisturizers with a different kind of name slapped on. rubyrub776 on ebay sells bb cream for great prices. I've ordered from her plenty of times (well not bb cream but other things) and have had no problems at all.

If you want a good BB cream, you should go to ulta or sephora and try out smash box's BB cream. I just started to use and & I like it :)
