This is just my own 20 years of experience but you would need more foundations to help find the shade like what Mookey had mentioned their are some that you have to mix up with sometimes a bit of colors and if you do a great job with any foundation then that's a plus just learn the skills and anything or product is a piece of cake and I have been told by some clients they like certain foundations and I go out and buy it because you never know when you need that product again and that's building your kit.As a artist you may not have all the answers or tools but you make it work by the study of clients other artist and your own skills that's why their are so many products you make it work as many ways as you want or can, that's why I had suggested you have a trial run so they can see what you had in mind for them and they can choose to like it or not then as your job you provide what they want.Being a artist it's not so simple cut and dry it takes a lot of learning you have to really take it seriously it's different from just doing a friend makeover.People really depend on you to make them look fabulous :-)

I charge 175.00 for brides including airbrush and 50.00 for bridesmaid which includes hd foundation. If they want airbrush I charge extra. Its best to provide everything. Its more professional. It also shows you're prepared for anything and you know your craft.

Hi marlene :) I remember I saw a makeup artist online I searched her she charged 300 bucks the reason they charge a lot well me lol is how far you will travel to see your client and because high end makeup is expensive :/ but what I do I buy the best of drugstores :) and the best of high ends and ask the client which they perfere I only buy 3 foundations and just customize the lightest for fair ladies my golden ladies and my colored ladies :) but 100 to more is a lot hehehe 15bucks I charge for drugstore and 25 for high end :) I think is reasonable.

I would never ask a client to bring her own foundation. If you don't have the perfect shade, make sure you have the colors you can use to mix and match. I understamd that bying mant colors in many different shades, so you can use drugstore brands that have proven itself to be excellent in all aspects. one I use and recommend a lot is the revlon colorstay. it's not too expensevie, works like a charm. good luck!

I usually price brides 130 and bridesmaids 80...but if its more than 5 girls I might be inclined to take off 10 for each girl.

I think investing in a foundation palette will be the best thing for you to do rather than buying every color of foundation available... Or if you would like to have multiple foundations then, invest in a line of inexpensive drug store brand... I recommend the Cover Girl 3 in 1 foundation... It's the closest thing I've found to my Mac Studio Fix...

I highly suggest not to use drugstore foundation, camerareadycosmetics.com has professional grade foundation for the same price. I suggest Ben Nye or Graftobian. Many mua's go for Graftobian or Cinema secrets for their brides. I suggest goingbon Model Mayhem for further info. Never ask the client to bring their own foundation if you do then you are not ready. I have read that you charge around the same price as others, don't charge too much and don't under charge either. Remember this is going to go towards replenishing your kit.
