I absolutely love Urban Decay and Sephora brand eye shadow. I find the pigmentation is amazing. The colour you see is the colour you get. The only thing is that the sparkly ones have quite a bit of fallout. For drugstore, I've only ever been impressed with Marcelle cosmetics eye shadow. It can be a bit pricey but the colours are nice and the colour payoff is great.

Both Urban Decay and theBalm have great color playoff, little no fallout, and feel unnoticable! Love them both, sadly, the Balm doesn't seem to have a huge selection of colors but at least UD does. Plus both are cruelty-free, UD has quite a few vegan options, and I believe theBalm has some, but I can't remember for sure.

Shauna is right though on the UD glittery ones, they do have more fallout and the texture isn't as lovely, but I don't care for glittery anyways so that isn't a big problem for me.

That's such a tough question because I find duds in the best of lines. I would have to say that for myself personally I've been loving the Lorac Pro palette because I finally found a palette with some great matte shades and even the shimmers that are included are pretty great as well. No fall out whatsoever or crazy fading even after 8 hours of wear.
