I have been having trouble with my foundation/BB cream looking patchy on my nose, and just my nose. I use Holika Holika clearing BB cream, skin79 hot pink BB cream or Revlon colorstay whipped makeup, each time it fades into patches on my nose. I have tried hard candy face primer, Rimmel face primer and neither have helped. I always apply with my fingers and blend with a beauty blender knock off sponge if that helps. What should I try to help prevent this?

Apply a maximum moisture day cream before your makeup and a DEWY foundation (I like the Rimmel wake me up) then set with powder, it will last all day without patches! Good look x

Maybe moisturize or exfoliate...

Jillian,

It sounds like you're doing everything right makeup wise - what skincare are you using?

First I put on face lotion that's a must! I use aveeno. Then I use garner skin renew and just Clinique powder and it doesn't make my face patchy. The lotion is most important.

Do you wear primer? You should try using that. Other reasons why your makeup is doing that are you could have really oily skin or really dry skin. I agree with emily about the day cream but I don't recommend rimmel because it is tested on animals and made really cheap. Hth;)

I have eczema prone dryish skin so I am REALLY into my skin care. I use simple moisturizing gel cleanser or aveeno calming foam cleanser morning and night I occasionally use a tea tree oil cleanser and it helps bad flare ups. I exfoliate once to two times a week with a gentle scrub. I moisturize with and aveeno eczema cream or CeraVe cream at night and simple rich moisturizer in the morning. I always use a light eye cream and let my skin care set for a few minute before applying makeup.

Exfoliate, moisturize, use a primer! :)

It is likely the dry areas soaking up all the moisture from your makeup - especially your bb creme which has a lot of great skincare benefits. Exfoliation is key as it seems you're well aware of. You may want to try a facial oil such as rms Beauty Oil which is 100% organic and gentle. It also works as a great primer since you mentioned you are using Rimmel's primer which is full of dimethicone which is only sitting on top of your skin and often times "moves" during the day.
