Although I have oily roots, my fine thick hair is always very dry and breakable and my hair is constantly shedding (more than usual) I use volumizing shampoo and hydrating conditioner (herbal essence)
any product suggestions?

How often do you trim your ends and deep condition your hair? Also, are you taking in enough water? Hair care products are great, but you've have to take care of your body to.

I drink plenty and take my vitamins but I don't trim my ends as much as I should.

Try trimming your ends to take off and split ends and promote new hair growth. Give yourself a hot oil treatment with coconut oil or castor oil once or twice a month and try deep conditioning maybe once a week to get the nutrients in your hair.
