I know that sleeping with all your make-up on is really bad for your skin, but is sleeping with a little bit on bad too? I don't mean very much at all, it's just when I remove my make-up I find it hard to get all of my mascara off. I get most of it off, and I'll think it's all off, but then I'll end up with little black specks of mascara around my eyes an hour later. So I was just wondering if not getting all of that off is going to be a problem for my skin? I have combination skin. And if it is, could you suggest a good make-up remover that isn't too expensive? Thank you :)

There's Olay make- up remover for combination skin. Which you can buy at any drugstore.

Cetaphil facial cleanser, which is available in store brands everywhere, works great either with water & a soft washcloth or you can apply with your fingers & tissue off. So gentle it can be used on infants, works great, fragrance free, lasts forever, cheap. :-)

You may want to get an eye make up remover(in addition to makeup remover) especially if you are using waterproof mascara. Wet & Wild has a very inexpensive eye make up remover that's very gentle and right around $3 or less. While mascara may not be harsh on your skin, old remnants of mascara can possibly be damaging to your eyes.

Oil. Any kind, really. I prefer grapeseed, but olive, jojoba, coconut, safflower. Any of them will easily remove all your makeup. I haven't had a problem with it breaking me out at all, but your mileage may vary.

ACK DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! lol Just get makeup remover wipes if you're too lazy like me. Sorry, I hadn't read the thing, lol. Yeah, just makeup remover wipes. The Neutrogena ones are the best in my opinion. But I don't think not getting it ALL off is too bad. I will wake up in the morning with little black morning goobers in my eyes. :P Ain't no thang. At least, for me. >.<

I never sleep with my make on, I remove my make up every evening using facial cleaner and for my eyes I use eyes remover. So I recommanded to do the same.

Oh gosh, please try to remove it if you can! I had a bad experience with going to sleep with make up on. It made my eye lids all flaky and I couldn't wear eye shadow. It took me like 2 weeks to get my lids back to normal.

Honestly, every little bit helps. I really don't see you having a bad reaction or extreme aging signs because of a little left over mascara ;) but do try to remove as much as possible. I reviewed the Napoleon Perdis Marshmallow foam makeup remover in a video if you wanna check out my YT or videos on my profile. I like it and it has some cool little quirks about it. Also- it will work on waterproof makeup as well :) Good luck!

i suggest investing in make-up remover wipes. elf makes good ones and they are only three dollars. if you cant find the elf ones, check out the skincare aisle in your grocery store or drug store. they usually have store brands that are in that price range too. hope that helps : )

What I usually do, because most eye removers leave a filmy residue on my eyes afterwards, I use Vasaline (Petroleum Jelly). I rub it on my eyes, especially when I'm wearing shadow, liner, and mascara. Then I take toilet paper or tissue and rub my eye make up off completely. It helps to take off the stubborn eye liner on your waterline too. Then I wash my face.
I noticed that it only takes a few minutes to do. When I'm extremely tired, I force myself to do it, and it isn't so bad.

There was some mascara that I use to use that would always leave residue under my eyes and I could not stand that so I stop using the mascara. But I have to agree with Jane, to remove my eye shadow and mascara I use Vaseline. It removes my eye makeup with ease which is what I need since most eye makeup removers are to harsh for my eye area.

For stubborn mascara, I mix 1 part olive oil and 1 part facial toner. When I was younger, I didn't mind much about removing all my mascara and waking up with raccoon eyes, now I'm 25 and I regret it. As you age, you'll find out that eyes are the most sensitive part of your face, and that puffiness can be prevented with a good night time routine, removing all makeup and moisturizing correctly makes a whole difference.

Oh! forgot to mention, I mix 1 part olive oil + 1 part facial toner in an empty clean bottle with a lid (I use an empty sample size of clinique's take the day off remover) and shake it really well, pour some on a cotton pad, then I remove all my face makeup, then I pour some more in a clean cotton pad only for my eyes. to remove every mascara residue, I fold the cotton pad in half, then grab my eyelashes in between and press with my thumb and index finger, so that I make sure that I'm removing the mascara under my eyelashes, or if tightlined my eyes, it removes everything. Afterwards, I apply 1 or 2 drops of chamomille eyedrops.

I use a cream cleanser to remove face makeup! I like Eminence coconut cream cleanser but I also LOVE LA FEMME cleansing magic (http://www.allaboutmeebeauty.com/product_p/lf001.htm) a little bit of this, no water needed- picks up all dirt and face makeup! then I do use an oil based eye makeup remover for my eyes and lips- the less you have to tug at your skin to get your makeup off- the better! oil slips it right off!

Olive oil works WONDERS for eye makeup. Also....I have a bad habit of coming home from work late at night and just want to crawl into bed. Soooo I started buying makeup wipes by I wanna say it's by ponds. But it's a lavender wipe, and it does and amazing job at removing mascara. They're only like five bucks or less at a drugstore :]

Sleeping with your makeup on is so bad for your skin/pores. BUT, i do it. I really try not to and im wayyyyy to lazy to wash my face at night so i just use the neutrogena makeup removing wipes. for eyes, neutrogena eye makeup remover (oil free).

It is really really really really bad to sleep with your makeup on. It clogs your pores and your skin doesn't have a chance to breathe!
