I tried African Black soap for the first time today. I got it from the health food store and it says it's pure raw African Black Soap. I put it on my legs in the shower and it burned and then felt itchy after! Is this normal?

I don't know if its "normal" per se, but I also had severe itching after using some the first time around, due to how dry it made my skin! My entire body felt like it'd be shrink wrapped. Nothing my st Ives couldn't fix, but I tossed it out immediately.

Yeah like 2 seconds after I applied it my legs felt like they were burning and tingly. I immediately washed it off and put my aloe and vitamin e soap on my legs to wash it off, then I washed it off in really cold water. Afterwards I noticed my skin was extremely dry so I put coconut oil all over them and now it feels fine. Maybe I'll try to put a very small amount on next time but I don't really think this is supposed to happen.

Probably your skin is to sensitive and reacted to the soap. Stop using it

African black soap is specifically for oily skin. Legs usually aren't oily.

My skin is very oily but it's not specifically for oily skin, it can be used by all skin types. The reason I tried it on my legs is because this soap has so many "healing" qualities for rashes, acne, eczema, and scars. I have quite a lot of old scars on my legs because I suffer from dermatitis.
