A while ago I decided I wanted black hair so I got some from a pharmacy and used it (my first time dying my hair :) ) but... it faded. ao I did it again , and again. it kept fading. finally I got a proffessional to do it but by then it was damaged and I don't understand? why did it fade and it even faded after the stylist did it for me. has this happened to anyone else??

Well, all colors fade. But black fades very fast. Black and red are the hardest to keep in your hair and coincidently the hardest to get out. But to help the staying power, don't shower for the first two days. And try using a cleansing conditioner that doesn't lather so it doesn't strip your hair.

Not just black and red but any hair color that's isn't brown or blonde. The color particles in black, red, blue, etc. are much larger and just kind of stick to your hair, versus say if you bleached your hair and stripped it of the color
