Everyone and there mama knows about YouTube. especially mine haha! but also seems everyone & their mama are making videos. not in a mean way tho. its amazing to start and be independent and also accomplish something but the beauty community has grown. some people do it for all the wrong reasons. just to receive products or make money. its became a big community that you don't even know which video to watch. ha. I'm just saying. not trying to offend anyone. just wanted to see what y'all think. (:

I feel the same way. I thought of doing videos just strictly for reviews of products not so much tutorials but I was unsure about it because there's millions of girls out there doing the same thing. I would love to do daily vlogs :)

Same here! I love reviewing products and maybe some hauls but tutorials I would bbe more creative. its usually the same thing over and over again.. vlogs are funny love watching them lol!

Check out Michelle Phans collaboration with Teen Vogue... I think... she does this whole thing on highlighting and contouring and the whole shabang!

I actually make youtube videos. But I feel the same way, sure it would be nice to make money from it, but just knowing that I helped someone boost their confidence, is plenty for me! It was so sweet, this girl told me she made a YouTube account just so she could subscribe to me, I don't think I'll ever forget that!

I agree with Raquel D. but also you learn a lot of different ways to do things such as applying makeup and hair styles. I personally still trying to find the perfect camera to continue making videos because I like helping and showing people different ways to do things so simple. lover for diy.

Hi :) I agree with what some of you are saying. I think YouTube is fun and sometimes you can explore things much more. Like seeing videos or tutorials, depending on what it is, can be harder than it looks. But I do like seeing outfit ideas and DIY videos :) I also appreciate when people go the extra mile to edit well or maybe to explain better and show ways on how to do things.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but one thing I don't understand is why there are so many mails I get to check out their channel. Or even see comments or advertisements on other people's videos.

Many people use YouTube for many different ways, but some use it the wrong way. yes its fun, I love YouTube but I've ran into videos where they just don't try and want subscription but hey its life do what you do (:

with advertising some can get paid for that. I mean may sounds weird but just click on there videos tthey get money you just don't know who is getting the money.

Now I have a YT channel but I'm not trying to make money or be famous. I love doing makeup tutorials because it helps me advance my technique to do it as a profession. If someone wants to do it to make money then hey, I can't fault them. I just wish a lot of these "YT gurus" who have 100K+ subscribers have a bit more interesting videos. I personally like YT guru's to do makeup (beauty and special effects), give honest reviews on products and even DIY projects that'll help save other beauty lovers money.

I have a problem with YTubers who are paid to give "glowing" reviews for products knowing good and darn well that the product is absolute junk. I can sniff dishonesty a mile away and I've stopped following a few popular one's because of it. I will say that the market is oversaturated and I would like to see a little more creativity. Hauls,DIY and tutorials are great but it all gets old after awhile.

If its too annoying for you then don't go on the site..talking about how people using it for the wrong thing well what do you think your doing on this site? its not meant for bitching lol

Zaidalid...I think this thread has been created to have dialogue amongst beauty geeks. I find absolutely nothing with it and if anything it will be beneficial for those on the fence about getting into the YT world. Its beauty related and no one is getting disrespected.

I agree don't do it for the money. I have a YouTube channel that I just started and I do it because I like making videos and I have family that don't live in the same state as me so its a great way for them to see me. Growing up in videos lol :)

I think it is usually easy to find those that are in it for the goods. Nothing wrong with getting freebies. I watch people that clearly have a passion for beauty and like to review products. If the person only reviews things given to them by companies I move on. Honest reviews are so important and often if getting something for free some can be motivated to give positive reviews even if the company wants honest ones. I love watching people who just love hair and make up. It's fun.

I have a youtube channel but I'm not a makeup girl or a guru at all. I just like to have fun with makeup basically. lol
