Oh that's something your going to have to put up with for red hair , I have been dying my hair red for 5 years now.

First , use a Quality hair color, I use loreal high color in hot red,
I use to have black hair & I would just lay red hair color over it & it would fade within 4 days (so serious) & don't use box colors like the ones you pick up at drugstores they fade a lot quicker then the pro salon colors you can get at Sally's
Bleach your hair! It won't fade as often I PROMISE you, ever since I bleached it instead & then colored it red it still fades just not as soon,
Limit the amount of times you wash your hair
& when you do color your hair red also buy a bright red from manic panic or la riche & when your washing your hair after shampooing just add some of the red color into your Conditioner & let it stay for 5 minutes just to refresh.

Use a shampoo with no sulfate I use bioinfusion and wash your hair in COLD WATER.
