Is it possible to turn thick hair into thin hair?

You can get your hair thinned at a salon?

I'm asking because it bothers me that I can't make a normal ponytail/bun/clip my hair without putting tons of pins or it falling down every few minutes... It's really impossible for me to do anything to my hair besides putting it down or making a ponytail with one of these huge dancers ponytail holders...it's a nightmare.

Okay you can either visit a salon and ask for them to use a thinning/sheathing comb to thin your ends and watch them do it CAREFULLY and don't be scared to tell them what you want or to stop OR purchase your own comb! It's definitely possible.

Or you could get it really layered rather than thinned :) that's what I did.

You can get it thinned, but some hair dressers like to get a little too happy with the thinning shears which is what obviously happened with the people above who said theirs is now too thin. Be very clear about how much you want it thinned and tell them to only do it a little bit at first and then feel it and if it's not thin enough have them do it a little more and so on.

@honey e. my hair is already layered but ut won't help because its a little longer than shoulder lenght, and very volumous. it only makes it worse since some strips of hair don't get caught in the ponytail.
@all others thanks

Neko, apparently not the way I got it done, I wear mine in a pony tail all the time :)
