How do I stop biting my nails?!!

I can't stop biting my nails and they just won't grow. I don't know what do! Any ideas?!

Put clear or light coloured nail varnish on, I used to bite mine all the time, but I put that on for a while and they looked so nice I don't want to bite them. I also used some stuff you put on your fingers which tastes DISGUSTING so every time I bit my nails I had a horrible taste in my mouth :s.
