Only pop it if its a white head otherwise you'll just irritate your skin even more, to reduce redness try using sudacrem and I've found that an antiseptic cream can help to reduce break outs:)

Make sure your hands are clean when you pop pimples so you don't spread the bacteria making it worse. don't use your nails because they break the skin causing scars. use finger tips, q tips or an acne tool. when you pop it make sure you get all of the puss/infection out until its clear, not bleeding. then you want to apply an antibacterial spot treatment to prevent it from reforming.

Wash your hands, pop the pimple (only if it's a whitehead), wash your face with a GENTLE cleanser, moisturize your whole face, mix a bit of moisturizer with an acne fighting cream (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or similar) and then dab that where the pimple used to be. Don't touch or pick at it for at least 8 hours. I recommend doing it at night.
