I'm not a makeup artist but for myself personally the less is more approach works best when the canvas is pretty much issue free. I've been having a battle with undereye circles due to my late night activities (basically no sleep) and it takes a lot of work (makeup) to give me that natural rested look. I know quite a few artists in the biz and they all tell me that natural look that gals crave take major work and whole lotta product to achieve.

I Agree to the fullest that less makeup is key...Its something about natural beauty if you destroy your precious skin with caking on foundation EVERYDAY than you have nothing but dragged down dull looking skin...I mean look at some of these celebrities! I believe when you let your skin breath the less damage and the more graceful you will age:)

I think it depends on the occasion. My personal fav is super glam almost drag look. So I guess I'm not a big fan of the less is more look, but I have no problem going for it..on a natural day.

Its not so much an issue of less is more I think more importantly is the application. You can have a full on glam look and when its perfectly blended and everything in the right places your general response would be it looks great. Than there could be a person with same amount of makeup but not the right shades and not properly blended and youll think it looks terrible.
What ppl also fail to realize when you see these actresses in the magazines with a "natural look" bc their wearing neutral colors they actually have a ton of makeup on. Most of these women are incredibly pail and what your led to believe looks natural is far from it

I'm no make up artist but I think any look is down to execution. Ironically the natural look you will see in magazines is actually unnatural. I completely agree with you guys.
