It is true, I have been told that plucking your eyebrows backwards (towards the centre of your face) damages the root of your hair and stops it from growing back, well it takes a lot longer. Is this true? Would it not make them grow back funny?

Maybe you mean the direction you pull the hair out, not the actual order you pluck (like starting at the tail and then doing the front)

You want to pluck hairs in the direction they're growing, if not you'll get ingrown hairs, bumps and yes it's likely to damage the follicle and they won't grow back. And if they do it make take a long time.
