I would start off with a quick intro.. it's nice to get an idea of what people can expect on your channel ;)

I agree, first video is best to be an introduction of yourself and your channel. I missed the chance of doing a proper introduction and it's hard for people to know who exactly am I. Haha.

I disagree. For my first video I just went straight in and did a makeup tutorial.
This isn;t meant to sound mean, but when you're starting out on youtube you won't have many fans - so people won't care who you are or what you like. Build your fanbase up and people will start to take an interest in you - then you can introduce yourself.

I wouldn't waste time on your "introduction" video. Like Zoe said, I really don't care. I never watch introduction videos.
[Oh, and caption/add text to your videos so deaf/hard of hearing people know what you're saying. We exist too. ;D]

Hi Alyssa, I jumped right into the main purpose of my channel: nail tutorials. I don't think that an intro would be bad, but I have seen some youtubers who said that they want to do this and that etc and in the end they uploaded only a few videos and stopped... After all it is time consuming to do a video (editing, idea etc) :) So I would recommend to simply start uploading and find your "style" (I don't like my first videos.. I didn't know a lot and had a bad camera) :)
good luck;)

For your first video I would do something like your everyday make-up routine or your favorite eye look. Tutorials often get some of the best feedback. (and hauls)

Yea its better just to do it rather than talk about it. I'm a new youtuber as well and my first video was a everyday eye look using gold:)

I would jump right into makeup or hair video to start off and get people more interested.. I still haven't made a intro video and I've had my channel a while now

i would do something that alot of people like to watch like hauls, your current products your obsessed with or your makeup collection. that will bring alot of views to your videos and more people to your channel

I skip intros. I want to get into the nitty gritty of watching and listening to what a person has to say about a particular product.
